Sikaflex® Tank N is a single-component, moisture-curing, elastic joint sealant designed for demanding applications. It offers excellent chemical and mechanical resistance, ensuring durability in challenging environments. Sikaflex Tank N – Designed for use in areas used for the storage, and the filling and handling of water polluting liquids. eg. floor joints in petrol stations, joints in handling areas, storage tanks, containment bunds, and movement and connection joints in parking garages.
APPLICATION
The substrate must be clean, dry and free from oils, grease, etc. Grinding non-porous surfaces with a fine abrasive pad, may improve adhesion. Tank N’s joint sealing system is approved for application on uncoated, liquid proofed, precast concrete elements. It has a technical approval for use in storage, filling and handling facilities for water-polluting liquids.
APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS
After preparation, insert a backing rod to the required depth and apply primer if necessary. Insert the foil pack barrel gun and extrude Tank N into the joint, making sure that it’s in full contact with the joint sides. It’s recommended to use masking tape on exact joint lines or where neat lines are needed.
LIMITATIONS
Sikaflex Tank N can be over-painted with most conventional facade paints, however, testing is advised.
Note: non-flexible paints may affect the elasticity of the sealant and cause the paint to crack.
▪ Colour variations may happen due to chemicals, high temperatures and UV-radiation. A change in colour however, is purely aesthetic and does not influence the performance or durability of the sealant.
▪ Do not use on natural stone, as a glass sealer, on bituminous substrates, natural or EPDM rubber, or on any building materials which might bleed oils, plasticizers or solvents.
▪ Do not use to seal joints in or around swimming pools.
