SikaMix 3 in 1 is a water-resisting plasticiser and retarder designed to enhance the performance of renders and screeds while also helping to prevent efflorescence. It improves durability by reducing water penetration and lowering porosity, while its air-entraining properties help maintain workability for longer periods and prevent water bleeding. In addition, it inhibits the transmission of hygroscopic salts, contributing to a stronger, longer-lasting finish.
Key Points:
– Improves resistance to water penetration and reduces porosity.
– Enhances durability and long-term performance of renders and screeds.
– Retains workability for longer and prevents water bleeding.
– Inhibits efflorescence and transmission of hygroscopic salts.
Shelf Life– 24 months from date of manufacture in original unopened containers.
Storage Conditions– Store upright in original, tightly sealed containers and in a dry cool well ventilated area (+5 °C to +25 °C). Protect from sunlight and frost.

Suitable for:
– Exterior renders and screeds.
– Water-resisting admixture for sand and cement mixes.
– Helps prevent water bleeding in fresh mortar.
– Reduces water absorption and inhibits salt transfer.
– Improves mortar performance for pebble dash and roughcast finishes.
LIMITATIONS
– Not suitable for use in structural concrete applications.
– Not intended to replace a damp proof course (DPC).
– Will not withstand permanent hydrostatic pressure. For tanking applications, use in conjunction with a suitable damp proof membrane (DPM).
– The finished surface is not water repellent. Where a water-resistant finish is required, apply a suitable proprietary sealer such as Sika Water Sealer.
– To prevent excessive air entrainment, avoid overdosing or overmixing the product.
– Do not combine with other additives in the same gauging water. Always premix with the gauging water before use and never add directly to the dry mix.
– It is the responsibility of the user to determine the suitability of the product for the intended application. If in doubt, contact technical services for guidance.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
SUBSTRATE QUALITY / PRE-TREATMENT
– Before applying SikaMix 3 in 1, ensure the substrate is clean, sound, and free from dust, loose material, and any contaminants that may impair adhesion. The structure should possess adequate mechanical strength.
– Walls should be thoroughly wire-brushed and any existing paint, coatings, or weak surface materials removed. Oil, grease, and all other contaminants must also be eliminated to ensure proper bond development of the applied render.
– Where the substrate is highly porous, long-term adhesion and durability may be improved by applying a bonding slurry composed of cement and SikaBond SBR mixed at a ratio of 1:2:1. This slurry should be applied to the prepared substrate immediately before rendering, with the render applied on a “wet on wet” basis.
APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS
– Typical dosage: 250–500 mL per 25 kg of cement. The dosage required to achieve the desired workability will depend on the mortar classification, ambient temperature, sand quality, and cement type.
– SikaMix 3 in 1 should be added to the mix together with the gauging water.
– Where multiple render coats are required, ensure that each previous layer is thoroughly scratched to improve adhesion between coats.
Each subsequent render layer should not exceed the thickness of the previous coat.
