BAL Three-Part Epoxy Grout is a hygienic, impervious resin-based tile grout ideal for large-scale installations such as supermarkets, malls, swimming pools, sports centres, food preparation plants, hospitals, and industrial facilities. This three-part epoxy system, comprising liquid resin, liquid hardener, and powder filler, offers exceptional chemical resistance, high durability with strong abrasion and impact resistance. It cures in just 24 hours at 20°C, providing a robust and long-lasting flooring solution.

– Suitable for joint widths up to 20mm.
– Recommended for large installations, including food preparation/processing plants, swimming pools, sports and leisure centres, shopping malls/supermarkets, hospitals, and industrial/chemical plants.
Additional Guidance
– For wall tiles, use BAL ABSOLUTE GROUT.
– BAL ABSOLUTE GROUT may also be suitable as an epoxy adhesive, depending on the substrate.

– Tiles with metal décor or lustre, soft-glazed tiles, or natural stone.
SURFACE PREPARATION
General
Before grouting, ensure that:
– Tiles are appropriate for the environment and installed on a solid bed of adhesive.
– Tile adhesive has fully cured, as per manufacturer guidance.
– Open joints are clean, dry, free from debris, and protected from contamination.
Important Notes:
– Ensure adequate ventilation and do not use below 5°C or in damp conditions.
– For external grouting, protect the area from adverse weather during and after application.
– In food preparation areas, ensure the work area is segregated before grouting.
– For porous tiles above 25°C, dampen joints with clean water prior to grouting.
– For external tiling, a DPM or surface DPM (e.g., BAL DPM) is recommended.
Recommendations:
– Use waterproof tanking systems for substrates (e.g., BAL TANK-IT or BAL WATERPROOF 1C).
– Ensure tiles are fixed with a solid bed using water-resistant adhesive (e.g., BAL FLEX ONE, BAL RAPID-FLEX ONE, or BAL XL FLOOR ONE).
MIXING
1. Stir the hardener and resin separately before use.
2. Add all the hardener to the resin in a clean container and mix thoroughly. Note: If using an electric drill mixer, blend slowly (<300 rpm).
3. Gradually add the filler and mix until fully dispersed and uniform in color. Avoid overmixing or entraining air.
4. Pour some of the mixed grout back into the original hardener and resin containers to remove residue, then return to the main mixing container and mix for 30 seconds.
Working Time: Approx. 60 minutes at 20°C.
APPLICATION
1. Test for staining, especially on unglazed, matt-glazed, textured, or quarry tiles. If staining occurs or cleaning is difficult, apply BAL PROTECTIVE SEALER and repeat the trial.
2. Use a stiffer mix to fill open-ended joints and prevent slumping. A hard rubber float is recommended.
3. Pour mixed grout onto the tile surface and, working in small areas, completely fill joints and compact the grout. Remove excess grout as you go.
Tip: Use grout from the same batch for large installations to ensure uniform color.
CLEANING OFF
– Clean off grout within 30 minutes using emulsifying pads in a circular motion, keeping the pad flat to achieve flush joints.
– Warm water may assist emulsification but is not essential.
– Avoid allowing water into un-grouted joints.
