Bostik PU91 Construction Polyurethane Sealant is a professional-grade, high-modulus sealant designed for construction joints subject to significant movement. It is extremely elastic, accommodating up to ±25% joint movement, and is suitable for both interior and exterior applications. Bubble and primer-free, PU91 withstands environmental stresses and is ideal for joints in areas subject to high traffic and movement, such as warehouse floors or gallery walkways in high-rise buildings.

STORAGE CONDITIONS
Store BOSTIK PU91 in its original, unopened packaging for up to 18 months from the production date. Keep in a cool, dry place between +5°C and +25°C, out of direct sunlight, and protect from frost.
BOSTIK PU91 SILICONE is a professional-grade, high-modulus polyurethane sealant designed for construction joints subject to high movement. It is elastic, bubble-free, primer-free, and suitable for both interior and exterior applications. The sealant adheres well to a wide range of construction materials and is ideal for expansion joints, façade joints, precast concrete, modular housing, pedestrian walkways, and roofing applications. With excellent slump and sag resistance, minimal shrinkage, and no outgassing during cure, it remains permanently elastic and weatherproof. BOSTIK PU91 meets the requirements of BS EN 15651:2017 parts 1 and 4 for façade and pedestrian walkway joints.

PREPARATION
– Work in well-ventilated conditions at temperatures between +5°C and +40°C.
– Ensure all necessary materials and tools are ready before starting.
– Joint surfaces must be clean, sound, and free from dust, loose material, and contaminants. The product tolerates slight dampness, but heavily wet surfaces may require postponing application.
– Optionally, apply masking tape along joint edges to achieve a neat finish and avoid contamination of surrounding surfaces. Use a round-ended spatula to tool the sealant and remove excess.
– Perform a test run without sealant to familiarise yourself with difficult areas such as corners or raised joints.
APPLICATION
– Unscrew the nozzle (if fitted) and carefully pierce the cartridge membrane, avoiding damage to the threads. Attach the nozzle.
– Cut the nozzle tip at a 45° angle to match the joint width.
– Insert the cartridge into a sealant gun, press the release plate, and pull out the plunger. Squeeze the trigger until the sealant appears.
– Place the nozzle at the start of the joint and apply slowly, ensuring the sealant makes contact with both sides. Stop the flow by releasing the trigger and pressing the plunger release.
– Ensure joint dimensions are correct to accommodate movement. Use backer rod where necessary.
– For joints ≤10 mm, maintain a 1:1 width-to-depth ratio, with a minimum of 5 mm.
– For joints >10 mm, depth = (width ÷ 3) + 6 mm.
– Smooth the sealant within its working time using a wet, round-ended tool, remove excess with a cloth moistened in white spirit, and remove masking tape if used.
– For damp or wet environments, tool the sealant to allow water runoff.
– Wipe excess sealant from the nozzle after use and replace the cap.
– The sealant skins over in approximately 90 minutes and cures at 2–3 mm per 24 hours, depending on bead size, temperature, and humidity.
CLEANING
Uncured Sealant: Remove excess mechanically with a soft scraper. Wipe remaining sealant with a cloth moistened with white spirit or soapy water. Repeat with a clean cloth if necessary.
Cured Sealant: Carefully trim excess with a sharp knife. Do not use solvents on cured product or skin; use soap and water instead.
PAINTABILITY
BOSTIK PU91 can be painted with water-based and most two-component paints. Avoid solvent-borne alkyd resin paints due to extended drying times. For best results, paint within a few days of application.
