FA880 contains a fungicide to prevent mould growth and offers excellent resistance to UV light, ageing, and weathering. Classified according to EN15651, it is compatible with most construction materials and performs reliably in cold climates.

Suitable for:
– Long-term elastic sealing of movement joints
– Natural stone including granite, slate, terrazzo, porphyry, limestone, travertine, sandstone, quartzite, and marble
– Compatible with joints between natural stone and other construction materials such as concrete, ceramics, metals, glass, PVC, and primed wood
– Use with resin flooring systems
Preparation
– Always perform a compatibility test before use.
– Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, stable, and free from grease.
– For non-porous substrates, use cleaner AT200; a preliminary test is recommended.
– Remove loose particles from joints with a brush.
– For plastics and powder-coated surfaces, clean with AT115 and confirm compatibility with a test.
Priming
– FA880 adheres well to most surfaces.
– For underwater applications, such as pools, the designated primer is essential.
– Refer to the primer table or contact the technical department for guidance on best results.
Joint Backing
– Use a backing rod beneath the joint to ensure the sealant bonds to only two surfaces.
Application
1. Apply in accordance with BS 8000-16: Workmanship on Building Sites – Part 16: Code of Practice for Sealing Joints in Buildings Using Sealants.
2. Use a high-quality geared sealant gun and cut the cartridge nozzle to the desired aperture.
3. Apply the sealant slightly proud of the finished level and spray with illbruck smoothing agent AA301.
4. Tool off immediately using a jointing tool such as AA311. Avoid excessive passes to maintain the matt finish.
Cleaning
– Clean tools or any sealant spillage immediately with illbruck AT200 Cleaner.
– Ensure the surface is solvent-resistant before cleaning.
– Once cured, the sealant can only be removed mechanically.
Please Note
– Not suitable for butyl rubber, neoprene, EPDM, or bituminous/tar-containing surfaces.
– Contact with bituminous or tar-containing surfaces may cause discolouration and loss of adhesion.
