SP540 is a one-part, non-sagging elastic sealant based on hybrid polymer technology, combining the application benefits of a single-component sealant with a fast-curing system. It forms a skin in approximately 35–40 minutes and remains chemically neutral and low odour during and after curing. Once fully cured, SP540 provides permanent elasticity with high mechanical strength and strong resistance to abrasion, UV exposure, weathering, and ageing. The product is free from isocyanates and silicone and is CE classified to EN 15651 Part 1: F-EXT-INT-CC and Part 4: PWEXT-INT-CC.

– Interior and exterior applications.
Substrate Preparation
– Ensure joint faces are clean, dust-free, and free from substances that may affect adhesion.
– Remove loose or friable material and repair damaged areas. Brush concrete and plaster joints to remove loose particles.
– Degrease metal surfaces with a suitable solvent.
– Use masking tape along joint edges to achieve a neat finish.
– Clean surfaces with AT115 or AT200 depending on the substrate; use AT115 for powder-coated surfaces.
– Carry out preliminary tests to confirm suitability.
Application
– Apply SP540 into the joint ensuring full contact with the joint sides and avoid trapping air.
– Smooth the joint using a compatible tooling agent.
– Remove masking tape immediately after tooling.
