Suitable for all interior wood
Before you start
– Ensure the room temperature is above 10°C and lay down dust sheets to protect surrounding areas from paint.
Prep – Bare Wood
– Lightly sand the wood to create a smooth, even surface and improve paint adhesion, wearing a face mask to avoid inhaling dust. Once the dust has settled, vacuum the area and wipe it down with white spirit. Fill any holes or cracks with Multi-Purpose Filler and allow it to dry before painting.
Prep – Previously Painted Wood
– If the existing paint is in good condition, sand it to create an even surface and help the new paint adhere. If the paint is flaking, cracked, or peeling, sand it back to bare wood—an electric sander can make this easier, but be sure to wear a face mask. After sanding, vacuum the area and wipe with white spirit, then fill any holes with Multi-Purpose Filler.
Application
– Stir the tin thoroughly before use, then apply the primer in the direction of the wood grain. It should be dry after 2 hours and ready for painting.
Aftercare
– This is a primer only, so it should be painted over soon after it has dried.
Cleaning
– Clean brushes with warm, soapy water after use.
Repair
– If any damage appears in the primer, sand the affected area lightly and reapply a coat of primer.
