Ronseal Teak Oil protects your garden furniture throughout the year while enhancing the wood’s natural colour and appearance. It replaces the natural oils lost through weathering, helping to prevent splitting and warping, while deeply penetrating the wood for long-lasting protection. Easy to apply and drying to a subtle matt finish, it also restores tired, weathered wood so it looks refreshed and well-maintained, with added water repellence in just six hours.

Suitable for exterior smooth planed garden furniture
Before you start
– Apply Teak Oil on a warm, dry day when the temperature is above 10ºC and no rain is expected.
Preparation
– If the wood has previously been painted or stained, remove the existing coating using a suitable furniture stripper to create a clean, smooth surface. Treat any mould or algae with an appropriate cleaner and deal with wet rot by hardening or removing it. For new timber, simply wipe it down with white spirit to remove dust, dirt, and grease.
Application
– Shake the tin thoroughly to ensure a smooth consistency. Apply a generous amount of oil to a cloth and test it on a hidden area to check the colour. – If satisfied, wipe the oil onto the furniture, rubbing it in well. After a few minutes, remove any excess with a clean cloth. Allow 24 hours for the first coat to dry, and for best results, apply three coats, leaving 24 hours between each application.
Aftercare
Cleaning
– Regularly clean your garden furniture to maintain its appearance and protect the finish. For tougher marks, use a specialist wood cleaner. Always wash oily cloths in warm, soapy water before disposal, as they can pose a fire risk if not handled properly.
Maintenance
– For stains, scuffs, or damage that cannot be cleaned, lightly sand the affected area and apply a fresh coat of Teak Oil to restore the surface.
