SikaBond® Contractors PVA is a versatile, water-based adhesive, primer, sealer, and mortar admixture that adheres to most common building materials—excluding PVC and rubber—and is ideal for priming unsound surfaces before plastering or painting, improving cement mixes, sealing dusty or flaking areas, and serving as a general-purpose adhesive for wood, cork, textiles, plaster, concrete, and ceramics. It can also be used as a bonding agent for screeds and renders on difficult substrates, as an admixture for mortars, screeds, and renders, and as an internal filler when mixed with wood shavings or plaster, offering quick-drying, economical performance with improved adhesion and flexibility.
Key Points
– Functions as a primer, sealer, bonding agent, adhesive, and mortar admixture.
– Suitable for wood, cork, textiles, plaster, concrete, ceramics, and other porous surfaces.
– Enhances adhesion, flexibility, and performance of mortars, screeds, and renders.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
SUBSTRATE QUALITY / PRE-TREATMENT
All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from grease, dust, and loosely adhering materials.
APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS
For general priming: Dilute 1 part SikaBond® Contractors PVA with 4 parts water and apply by brush. Allow to dry.
For a bonding coat: Apply undiluted by brush and apply plaster or render while the surface remains tacky. If a sealer coat is required, allow it to dry fully before applying the bonding coat.
As an adhesive: Use undiluted. Apply to both surfaces, press together, and clamp large areas for 24 hours.
As a cement admixture: Add 10–15 litres of SikaBond® Contractors PVA to 50 kg of cement.
As a filler/plaster admixture: Dilute 1:1 with water and use in place of mixing water.
As a dust sealer (concrete, composite, and terrazzo flooring): Dilute 1 part SikaBond® Contractors PVA with 5 parts water and apply 1–2 coats. Allow to dry completely (typically 8 hours) before permitting foot traffic.
CLEANING OF TOOLS
Clean all tools and remove excess SikaBond® Contractors PVA immediately after use with cold, clean water.
