Ronseal Crystal Clear External Varnish provides durable protection for exterior wood while maintaining its natural colour, making it ideal for preserving the original look of outdoor surfaces. Its water-based formula helps protect against weather damage, preventing cracking and peeling over time, and unlike traditional yacht varnish, it won’t yellow. Tough and long-lasting, it offers a reliable clear finish for exterior wood.

Suitable for external wood.
Prepare
– Sand the wood using 120 grit paper, wearing a mask to avoid inhaling dust. Do not use in temperatures below 10°C. Stir thoroughly before use and test on a small area to ensure you are happy with the finish. The product appears off-white in the tin but dries clear.
Apply
– Use a synthetic brush to apply 3 coats in the direction of the wood grain. Allow 6 hours between coats and lightly sand with 240 grit paper before applying the final coat.
Clean Up
– Remove excess varnish from brushes and wash them in warm, soapy water. Do not dispose of leftover varnish in drains or watercourses—check with your local authority for proper disposal options.
