Cromar AlphaChem Polyurethane 25 is a high-performance, single-component, fast-curing polyurethane sealant specifically designed for applications requiring a durable, elastic bond with exceptional weather resistance. Ideal for bonding a variety of construction materials and sealing expansion joints, it forms a reliable seal without the need for a primer and can be overpainted for seamless finishes.

Priming
- Adheres without primer to most commonly used substrates, including wood, anodized aluminum, polyester, glass, concrete, baked clay, stone, and ceramic tiles.
- For challenging materials, such as plastics (PVC, ABS, PMMA) or uncoated metals like raw aluminum or lacquered surfaces, perform preliminary tests to determine if surface preparation is needed.
Substrate Preparation
- Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or contaminants that could impact bonding. For cleaning, use methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) or acetone on surfaces compatible with ketones; use ethanol for sensitive surfaces, being careful to avoid contact with the sealant.
- When using solvents, work in a well-ventilated area, remove any ignition sources, and follow supplier guidelines.
- On concrete surfaces, especially if there is cement residue, use a metal brush to rub down and remove dust.
- For metallic surfaces, remove oxidation if present, clean with a suitable solvent, and allow at least 10 minutes to dry.
Application
- Apply with a suitable foil applicator gun. Use a wetted spatula or putty knife for tooling down, applying light pressure.
- For bonding applications, make the bond before a skin forms on the product.
- Excess uncured product can be removed with Cromar Alpha Chem Grafters Wipes, while cured product may require mechanical removal.
- Dispose of packaging responsibly.
Important Note: Use the product within 24 hours of opening, as it may begin to cure if left exposed.
Limitations
- Do not apply if the temperature is below 5°C.
- For challenging materials, such as plastics (PVC, ABS, PMMA) or uncoated metals like raw aluminum or lacquered metal, conduct preliminary tests to confirm if surface preparation is needed.
- Avoid contact with uncured MS, hybrid PU, or silicone sealants, as well as alcohols or ammonia, during the curing process.
- For solvent-based paints, perform compatibility tests prior to application.
- It is the user’s responsibility to verify suitability for their specific use.
