Everbuild Everflex AC95 is designed to create an acoustic and intumescent barrier, EVERBUILD EVERFLEX AC95 is ideal for sealing gaps between plasterboard walls, floors, ceilings, and for dry lining applications. Surface Preparation and Application Guide

Substrate Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dust-free, and free from loose or flaking coatings, as well as any old sealants or mastics. Highly porous surfaces, like new plaster, should be primed with Everbuild 501 PVA Bond (diluted 1:4 with water) and allowed to dry. Surfaces can be slightly damp but not wet, as this may slow the curing process.

Application Method/Tools:

  • Sealant Use: Insert the cartridge into a 1 L mastic gun, cut the nozzle to the desired size, and puncture the inner seal. For gaps, cut the nozzle slightly larger than the gap. Overfill slightly, smooth with a caulking tool or filler knife, and clean any excess with a damp cloth within 30 minutes.
  • Adhesive for Large Surfaces: Cut the nozzle to create a bead of 9-10 mm. Apply continuous beads at 250-350 mm intervals on one surface, position the board immediately, and tamp down. Temporary support may be needed until fully cured.
  • Adhesive for Studding: Apply a continuous bead to the studding and position the board immediately. Limit application to one board width of studding at a time, and provide temporary support until curing is complete.

Limitations

  • Curing Time: Damp or humid conditions can significantly extend the cure time.
  • Post-Cure Handling: Avoid abrading or overpainting until fully cured. Typically, this is 24 hours but may extend to 4-5 days in damp, cold, or humid environments.
  • Application Restrictions: Do not apply the product at temperatures below 5°C.
  • Overhead Applications: Always use mechanical fixings for overhead boarding.
  • Compatibility Issues: May not be compatible with certain cPVC piping; test before use.
