SikaSeal® Sanitary Silicone + is a fast-curing, acetoxy silicone sealant designed for sanitary applications and areas of high humidity. It provides a strong, waterproof and permanently flexible seal, while its powerful fungicide helps prevent mould growth. Suitable for damp environments, it resists discolouration over time and is certified to EN 15651 in accordance with the Construction Products Regulation.

Suitable for:

Sealing in high-humidity areas or areas prone to condensation.

Sealing around baths, showers, basins and other sanitary fixtures.

Sealing around worktops and laminate surfaces.

Bonding PVCu trims and panels.
LIMITATIONS
- Do not use with bitumen or asphalt. Use Weather Mate.
- Not suitable for highly porous surfaces, such as new concrete or stonework. Priming is recommended, or use SikaSeal® Construction Silicone.
- Do not use on substrates that may release oils, solvents or plasticisers.
- Do not use near double-glazed units or with their edge sealants. Use SikaSeal® Construction Silicone.
- Do not use for perimeter sealing of uPVC frames. Use LMN Frame Silicone Ultra.
- Do not use on soft metals such as lead or brass. Use SikaSeal® Lead.
- Cannot be overpainted. Where painting is required, use Weather Mate.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
-
Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust.

Remove loose or flaking coatings, old sealant and mastic before application.
-
Clean glass, metal and aluminium with a suitable solvent cleaner for optimum adhesion.

Porous surfaces may require priming. Test a small area first.
APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS
-
Follow the recommended joint dimensions and ratios.

If required, reduce joint depth using Sika Boom® Expanding Foam or Joint Backer Rod.

Ensure the sealant adheres to only two surfaces, as three-sided adhesion can reduce flexibility.

Cut the cartridge tip without damaging the thread, fit the nozzle and cut it at a 45° angle, slightly wider than the joint.

Apply using a standard sealant gun, maintaining even trigger pressure and a consistent angle.

Smooth the sealant within 10 minutes using a spatula or piece of wood wetted with soapy water.

For a neat finish, apply masking tape to both sides of the joint and remove within 5 minutes of application.
