Sikaflex® PRO-3 Purform® is a 1-part, moisture-curing, elastic polyurethane sealant designed for sealing a wide range of joints in floors and civil engineering structures. It provides excellent flexibility across a wide temperature range, combined with high mechanical, chemical and weather resistance for long-lasting performance. The sealant offers fast development of mechanical properties, reliable adhesion to many construction materials and bubble-free curing, while remaining non-staining on a wide range of substrates.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
– Ensure the substrate is sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, oil, grease, cement laitance, sealant residues and poorly bonded coatings. The substrate must be strong enough to withstand sealant movement.
– Remove weak or friable material using wire brushing, grinding, grit blasting or other suitable mechanical methods. Repair damaged joint edges with suitable Sika repair products and remove all dust and loose material before application.
– Primers promote adhesion but do not replace proper surface preparation. Where required, use the recommended primer or pre-treatment for optimum adhesion and durability. For high-performance applications, test adhesion on project-specific substrates and agree the procedure with all relevant parties.
NON-POROUS SUBSTRATES
– Aluminium, anodised aluminium, stainless steel, galvanised steel and glazed tiles: Lightly abrade, clean and pretreat with Sika® Aktivator-205 using a clean cloth.
– Copper, brass and titanium-zinc: Lightly abrade and clean the surface. Pretreat with Sika® Aktivator-205, allow the flash-off time, then prime with Sika® Primer-3 N.
– Powder-coated metals: Carry out preliminary adhesion trials. Contact Sika Technical Services for further advice.
– PVC substrates: Prime with Sika® Primer-215 using a brush.
POROUS SUBSTRATES
– Concrete, aerated concrete, cement-based renders, mortars and bricks: Apply Sika® Primer-3 N or Sika® Primer-115 by brush. Avoid excessive primer application or puddling.
– Concrete 2–3 days old or matt wet: Prime with Sika® Primer-115.
– Reconstituted, cast or natural stone: Carry out preliminary trials to check for plasticiser migration. Contact Sika Technical Services for suitable primer recommendations.
ASPHALT (ACCORDING TO EN 13108-1 AND EN 13108-6)
– Fresh or existing cut asphalt must have a clean bonding surface with more than 50% exposed aggregate. Apply Sika® Primer-3 N or Sika® Primer-115 by brush, avoiding excessive application.
– Refer to the relevant Product Data Sheet for further information on primers and pre-treatment products. Contact Sika Technical Services for additional advice.
MIXING
– 1-part, ready to use. No mixing required.
APPLICATION
– Follow the application procedures defined in the relevant Method Statements, application manuals and working instructions, adapting them to actual site conditions.
– Do not use on natural stone where plasticiser migration may cause staining. Do not use in or around swimming pools containing chlorine or other water treatment agents.
– Avoid exposure to alcohol-containing products during curing, as this may interfere with curing and leave the sealant soft or tacky.
– Apply masking tape where neat joint lines are required. Insert a backing rod to the required depth and prime the joint surfaces as recommended, avoiding excessive primer.
– Open the cartridge or foil pack, fit and cut the nozzle to the required bead size, then insert into the application gun. Apply the sealant into the joint without trapping air, ensuring full contact with the joint surfaces.
– Tool the sealant firmly against the joint sides as soon as possible using a compatible tooling agent such as Sika® Tooling Agent N. Do not use solvent-containing tooling products. Remove masking tape within the product’s skin formation time.
OVERPAINTING THE SEALANT
– The product can be overpainted with most conventional paint systems once fully cured. Carry out preliminary compatibility trials in accordance with ISO/TR 20436:2017 before overpainting.
– Paints, sealants and adhesives may contain plasticisers that can cause paint surfaces to become tacky. Rigid paints may also crack when applied over joints subject to movement.
CLEANING OF TOOLS
– Clean tools and application equipment immediately after use with Sika® Remover-208 or Sika® Cleaning Wipes-100. Once cured, the material can only be removed mechanically.
