    Dowsil Firestop 700 Sealant is a low modulus, neutral curing, fire-rated silicone. It has excellent unprimed adhesion to a range of common substrates. This includes stone, steel, masonry, brick, wood, and more.

    Fire Ratings

    Dowsil Firestop 700 Sealant can achieve up to a 4-hour fire rating at specified joint and penetration configurations, which data is available for. As a result, the test data provides a good indication of the expected performance of the sealant in fire situations.

    Applicators should satisfy themselves that specific purpose for which this sealant is proposed are suitable. Therefore testing of a particular system may be required. Also, to achieve any specific fire rating, all substrates being used in the system must have at least an equivalent fire rating.

  • Everbuild Fire Mate Sealant

    Everbuild Fire Mate is a five hour rated, one part, emulsion acrylic based, intumescent Acoustic sealant that gives a firm yet flexible seal to joints in a variety of fire rated structures. This product will resist the passage of fire for up to 5 hours, in suitably designed joints. The selected fillers used in this formulation also make it suitable for use as an acoustic sealant.

    USES

    – Sealing firewalls, partitions and other structures; also for maintaining the integrity of pipes and cables that penetrate them.
    – For internal sealing of fire rated door and window frames.

    APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

    SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

    All surfaces must be dry and dust free. Any old sealant should be removed before application, along with any loose or flaking surface coatings.

    APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS

    Surfaces to be must be dry and free from dust, grease and other contaminants. Therefore allowing the product to perform at its best. Adhesion can be improved by wiping the surface with EVERBUILD GLASS CLEANER, allowing all solvent to evaporate before applying sealant.

    Priming is not required, although we always advise testing small areas before use if you’re unsure.

    Everbuild Firefoam B1 should be used to fill larger voids to maximise fire rating. Cut the tip of the cartridge with a sharp blade, taking care not to damage the thread. Apply nozzle and cut at an angle of 45° with an opening slightly larger than the gap to be sealed.

    Apply using a standard sealant gun. Best results will be obtained by keeping the gun at a constant angle to the surface being sealed.

    To improve the performance & ensure a proper bond, always smooth the sealant down with a spatula or piece of wood, that is dampened with a soapy water solution. In addition, an improved joint appearance can be achieved by using masking tape, which should be applied to both sides of the joint & then removing within 5 minutes of application. Single seal joints should be on fire rated side of the structure.

    LIMITATIONS

    – This product can not be used on substrates that may bleed oils, solvents or plasticisers.
    – Known to have compatibility problems with some cPVC piping, therefore not ideal for this method.

    – In some cases, the product can yellow while curing if exposed to brick acid or bleach. However, this does not affect performance.

    Everbuild Fireseal 300 is a one-part, acrylic-based, intumescent sealant that gives a firm yet flexible seal. The product will resist fire passages for up to 5 hours. The selected fillers used in this formulation also make it suitable for use as an acoustic sealant. Alternative fire product from Everbuild is the Fire Seal 400 – slightly less fire-resistant time but silicone-based over the acrylic 300, making it slightly easier to apply.

Everbuild Fireseal 300 does not require a primer on most common surfaces, although we recommend adhesion tests before full-scale application. However, if the joint is likely to be immersed or if adhesion is poor.

    LIMITATIONS

    – Not for use on substrates that may bleed oils, solvents or plasticizers.

  • Mapei – Mapeflex Firestop 1200 – Box of 12

    Mapeflex Firestop 1200 °C is a one-component, asbestos-free, quick-setting, rigid, silicate refractory fire resistant sealing grout, high temperatures and fumes.
    Ideal for making rigid seals in chimneys, ovens, radiators, barbecues, flues and fire-break walls. Also suitable for pointing or for installation layers on refractory bricks when building or carrying out maintenance work on elements in continuous, permanent contact with flames or heat up to +1200°C, with temporary peak temperatures up to +1600°C.

    Some application examples are rigid grouting of joints, for missing areas and installation layers for new elements in contact with flames or at very high temperatures when in service.

    It is most frequently used for the following applications:
    – ovens;
    – chimneys;
    – radiators;
    – barbecues;
    – flues;
    – rigid fire-break joints.

    Bonds to all porous, absorbent substrates after the contact surface has been cleaned and dampened with water.

    TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

    Mapeflex Firestop 1200°C is a soft paste in emulsion which forms rigid grout when the water contained in it has evaporated off. When large quantities are applied, fresh
    paste on the hardened layer may be required. Mapeflex FireStop 1200°C must be applied and left to dry at room temperature and then the substrate must be gradually heated up after at least 24 hours at +23°C.

    Mapeflex Firestop 1200°C is a rigid, non-deformable sealant, Similarly to grout, it is made from sodium silicate and special mineral fillers and is completely free of hazardous toxic substances, such as asbestos.
    When fully hardened, Mapeflex Firestop 1200°C is a class A1 non-combustible product according to EN 13501.

    When Mapeflex Firestop 1200°C comes into contact with fire or heat it does not increase in volume.

    Mapeflex Firestop 1200°C is odourless and contains no solvents.

    RECOMMENDATIONS –

    Do not apply in these conditions , for instance –

    –  On dusty or crumbly surfaces.
    – Surfaces with stagnant water or with capillary rising damp.
    –  Joints that are subject to cyclical movements.
    – Or use on surfaces exposed to frequent contact with rainwater or high levels of humidity.

    Other recommendations –

    – Wear protective gloves and goggles when handling the product.
    – Remove traces of excess sealant immediately after smoothing it over with a damp sponge.
    – Different masses in the first volume of product extruded do not compromise the efficiency of the sealant.

    APPLICATION PROCEDURE

    Preparation of the surface for bonding or sealing all surfaces to be bonded or sealed must be dry or slightly damp, sound and free of dust, loose parts, oil, grease, wax, old paintwork and rust on metal surfaces.

    Preparation and application of Mapeflex Firestop 1200°C – Insert the cartridge in an extrusion gun, cut off the tip of the cartridge, screw on the extrusion nozzle, trim the nozzle at an angle of 45° and according to the extruded width required and squeeze out the product in a continuous flow into the joint while trying to avoid air entering the joint.

    To avoid the sealant seeping out of the joint and to get a more attractive finish, we recommend applying masking tape along the edges of the joint.

    When pointing joints of refractory bricks on new or old structures, remove all loose parts to form a section suitable for the sealant at least 5×5 mm. Dampen absorbent substrates to avoid
    the extruded sealant drying out too quickly.

    On substrates at the surrounding temperature (up to +35°C) apply the sealant by extruding it from the cartridge with a conventional silicone gun & fill the section with sealant. After that, smooth over the surface with something damp, for instance, a sponge and remove all excess material before it hardens. After that, the hardened material excess may only be removed mechanically.

    CONSUMPTION

    • For pointing joints: 5×5 mm section approx. 12 m per cartridge
    • 10×10 mm section approx. 3 per cartridge.
    • For laying refractory bricks: approx. 4 m per cartridge.

    CLEANING

    Clean all tools immediately after use with water.
    Once hardened, the product may only be removed mechanically.

    Protecta FR ASF is designed to prevent the spread of fire, smoke and gases through openings in fire rated walls and floors, specifically linear joints and openings for building service penetrations. Protect FR ASF should be applied over suitable backing materials to ensure correct width to depth ratio and reduce the joint’s shrinkage during hardening. In areas with a high degree of humidity and/or in joints with excessive movement, use Protecta FR IPT.

    Protecta FR ASF is a 2 hour rated intumescent sealant formulated with fillers that provide noise reduction. Protecta FR ASF cures when subjected to atmospheric conditions; however, it will retain a small degree of elasticity for joint movement. Under fire exposure, Protecta FR ASF creates a robust fire seal by the formation of a durable intumescent char.

    The sealant has undergone tests to BS EN 1366-3 with additional guidelines from BS EN 1366-4 for fire protection joints and testing in accordance with BS EN ISO 140-3:1995 for acoustic performance.
