Silancolor Tonachino Plus
Silancolor Tonachino Plus is a silicone resin-based coating in paste form with great filling capacity for a rustic finish. It’s recommended for finishing off internal and external walls where particular environmental conditions are open to the growth of algae, mould, and fungi due to its excellent water-repellent properties.
Tonachino Plus is specifically designed for buildings in coastal and rural locations. It contains added anti mould and algae protection for these conditions.
Some application examples include:
- Decorating façades effected by algae and mould, including façades with old paintwork (check suitability beforehand).
- Decorating north-facing façades.
- Decorating all types of cement and lime-based render.
- Finishing coatings for cladding systems such as Mapetherm.
Silancolor Tonachino Plus is supplied in 20 kg plastic drums.
This product can be stored for 24 months if kept in a dry place away from sources of heat. Ensure a temperature of between +5°C and +30°C. Protect from freezing weather.

Silancolor Tonachino Plus has been formulated specifically for the protection against algae, mould, and fungi. It may be used for decorating buildings located in areas where the damp climate favours the growth of such micro-organisms. A typical example is the painting of north-facing façades which are particularly sensitive to the growth of algae due to the walls of the building being colder and damper.
APPLICATION
Apply Silancolor Tonachino Plus with a stainless steel or plastic trowel on the dry layer of Silancolor Base Coat. The product can also be applied by spray with the correct equipment. To ensure the right protection, one coat of Silancolor Tonachino Plus needs to be applied. Spread the product in an even layer and level with a trowel to create an even finish. Alternatively, use a damp sponge float to obtain the desired final effect.
According to the Tonachino grain size and the roughness of the substrate, the application can be carried out in two layers, to reach a perfectly homogeneous finish.
LIMITATIONS
- Do not apply on damp or partially cured substrates.
- Do not apply if the temperature is less than +5°C or more than +35°C.
- Do not apply if the humidity is higher than 85%.
- Do not apply if rain is forecast, in windy weather or in direct sunlight.
