APPLICATION
Application Temperature:
- The application temperature should be between +10°C and +30°C. Avoid applying the adhesive at temperatures outside of this range, as it may affect the bonding performance.
Acclimatization:
- Prior to installation, acclimatize the wood flooring materials to the intended application site’s temperature. Allowing the materials to adjust to the environment will minimize the risk of expansion or contraction after installation.
Existing Damp Proof Membrane (DPM):
- For solid floors, ensure that there is an existing DPM in place before applying the adhesive. The DPM helps prevent moisture from rising and affecting the wood flooring.
Notched Nozzle or Trowel:
- When applying the adhesive from a cartridge, use the provided notched nozzle for maximum transfer of the adhesive. If using a tub, use a suitably sized notched trowel for application.
Adhesive Application:
- Apply the adhesive directly to the substrate. When using a cartridge, apply the adhesive in a triangular bead, approximately 8mm wide by 10mm high, and spaced at 250mm centers, perpendicular to the length of the wood.
Limited Working Time:
- Only apply the amount of adhesive that can be used within 20 minutes of application. The adhesive will start to cure after this time, and applying more adhesive than can be used promptly may lead to compromised bonding performance.
Laying the Wood Flooring:
- To ensure maximum transfer of adhesive to the wood flooring, lay the wood into the adhesive with a slight twisting motion and gently tap it into place.
Curing Time:
- WOOD PRO will take at least 24 hours to cure when the temperature is around +23°C and the relative humidity is around 50%. Cooler temperatures or lower humidity levels may extend the curing time. It’s essential to allow the adhesive sufficient time to cure before proceeding with any sanding or finishing of the wood flooring.
