Hodgson Sealants HY-SPEC 25 is a single-component, solvent-free, neutral cure sealant. It utilizes moisture curing and belongs to the low modulus hybrid category, formulated with Hodgson Hybrid Polymer Technology.

Hodgson Sealants HY-SPEC 25 is suitable for the following applications.
- Suitable for sealing door and window frames along their perimeters.
- Ideal for sealing between different materials, including uPVC, aluminum, composite, and timber frames, when installed into masonry, brick, or plaster walls.
- Effective for sealing construction joints that may experience movement.
- Can be painted and is a low modulus sealant suitable for both internal and external applications.
APPLICATION
PROPERTIES
- Recommended application temperature range: +5°C to +40°C
- Shelf life: 24 months
- Skinning time: 55 minutes
- Working time: 50 minutes
INSTRUCTIONS
- Surface preparation: Ensure all surfaces are thoroughly cleaned, dry, and free from frost, grease, and loose materials. If necessary, apply primer. Typically, priming is only necessary when testing indicates its requirement. Apply the sealant using a skeleton gun, ensuring good contact with the surfaces. For achieving an exceptionally tidy finish, consider using masking tape to cover the face edges of the joint, and remove it immediately after completing the tooling.
- Tooling: It is advisable to tool the sealant immediately after application, within the specified working time for the product.
LIMITATIONS
- Avoid using it for constructing aquariums.
- Refrain from applying it to plastics like PP, PE, PTFE, or other materials with low surface energy.
- It is not suitable for bitumen, marble, or natural stone.
- Not recommended for bedding Insulating Glass Units.
