APPLICATION

PROPERTIES

  • Application temperature range: +5°C to +40°C
  • Curing rate: Typically cures at a rate of 2-3 mm within 24 hours at 23°C @ 60% RH. Note that lower temperatures and drier conditions may result in a slower cure rate.
  • Shelf life: 12 months.
  • Skinning time: A skin forms approximately 30 minutes after application at 20°C @ 60% RH.
  • Working time: Varies depending on conditions, typically around 15 to 20 minutes.

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Joint design: Before application, please refer to the Technical Information Sheet titled ‘Joint design for cartridge-based products.’
  • Surface preparation: Ensure all surfaces are thoroughly cleaned, dry, and devoid of frost, grease, or loose materials. Apply a primer if necessary. For achieving a particularly neat finish, use masking tape to cover the face edges of the joint and remove it immediately once tooling is complete.
  • Application: Cut the tip of the screw thread off the cartridge and attach the nozzle. Adjust the nozzle diameter to match the joint size. Apply the sealant using a skeleton or powered gun, ensuring excellent contact with the surfaces. In deep joints, employing a foam backing rod is essential for proper joint formation.
  • Tooling: It’s crucial to tool the sealant immediately after application, staying within the specified working time for the product.
