So that’s January, February and March completed.
It’s been a rollercoaster, especially in terms of price increases, but it looks like it might be time for us to get off! With January bringing further increases of around 20%, something we have unfortunately become accustomed to, February only saw 2 manufacturer increases, and March, one. We was hoping that prices might start to stable, but we have had notifications of a pending April increase.
We have a brand-new range of RAL coloured sealants from Rainbow Sealants. There is a much quicker turnaround with them, as they aim to always have a stock of all K7 colours. With that being said, it’s always handy to pop us an email, or hop on the live chat just to check stock & availability to avoid any disappointment. With RAL colours growing rapidly in the sealant industry, more sites and customers now have the ability to choose exact colour matches for their projects & areas of application.
February saw a shift into silicone-less products and a sign that these formulas would prove to be more stable with prices, in comparison to the silicone based equivalents. Bond-It introduced a brand-new LM hybrid, which is set to compete shoulder to shoulder with the silicone-based Low Mod products. LMH25 can do everything a silicone-based equivalent can do & more! It is UV resistance, has a high movement capability and quick curing technology. It can also be applied to damp surfaces AND ITS OVERPAINTABLE! (2-0 to LMH25)
We spent the month sending out samples to any of our customers who wanted to give it a go, and the feedback has been great! More are leaning towards this compared to their previous ‘go tos’, and with the price of a tube online at only £3.20, it’s worth a try! Trade customers, we encourage you to reach out for better rates!
As March rolled in, we put into play some work on reducing our carbon footprint. It can be difficult in the construction industry to know what can and can’t be recycled, and if certain materials do carry the logo, where is the right place to do it. We soon realised it isn’t just about what we can’t do, but what we can do – so we now have a recycling bin in each office and a weekly collection, along with reducing our use of paper (the end goal is for us to be completely paperless) You can read more about what we are doing over on our LinkedIn page, as well as any industry information that might be of interest. (Also, we have an office Vegan, so an extra +10 points to us).
We dipped our toe into the collaborating waters last year with Martyn Cooper, who ever so kindly, and comically, reviewed some of the products we supply. You can even watch his partner Gem clearly blow him out of the water with her sealant application in their new kitchen. Sorry Martyn!
March hosted International Women’s Day, so we sent Jennifer, from @jenthedecorator on Instagram, our Kitchen & Bathroom Kit to review for us, along with a code for all the fiercely independent women of the world to bag a bargain! Don’t fear, that code wasn’t just for women, it was for everyone else to celebrate IWD!
Our competitions, codes and offers for this first quarter ranked up a total of £1137.73 in savings for you lovely lot! We try to give back where we can with codes on our socials and in newsletters. We even threw a cheeky competition into the mix for you as we really got into the Winter Olympic spirit.
