Substrates
Substrates: all common porous building substrates, concrete, screed floor, brick, stone, stucco, wood.
Nature: Surfaces should be dry, level, solid and free of dust, residues of previously used adhesives, grease and oils.
Surface preparation: Shut down underfloor heating according to the correct procedures. For renovations, the existing, flexible flooring (carpet, linoleum, cushion vinyl, rubber, PVC, …) has to be removed. Make sure there is a pure surface. When renovating all old adhesive residue has to be removed mechanically. Make sure the surface is solid. Sand the surface until a solid layer is achieved (mandatory for anhydrite surfaces), also make sure that all impurities (like old adhesive residues) are removed.
If there are doubts for powder, sand or burned surfaces, a scratch test can be done. When a weak result is obtained, it’s recommended to apply Soudal WBPR-21.
Check the flatness of the surface. In general we should place a levelling layer, such as Soudal VE50. Abrupt roughness, cracks, etc are not acceptable. For strong absorbing surfaces, it is recommended to use the Soudal WBPRR-11P primer.
Right before applying the flooring, vacuum the surface thoroughly. Before applying the flooring, it should be acclimatized to the surroundings (15°C-28°C):
– Ensure that during the application the temperature and humidity of the flooring material, the adhesive, the surface and the surrounding remains stable.
– Walls and floors have to be completely dry prior to application of the adhesive. Do not plaster or paint in the surroundings during the period after application to ensure a stable environment.
We recommend a preliminary adhesion test on any substrate.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THIS IS A NON-STOCK ITEM & EXTENDED LEAD TIMES ARE TO BE EXPECTED

Soudal LVT Adhesive is ideal for the bonding of flexible flooring materials such as LVT (luxury vinyl tiles) flooring, PVC tiles and cushion vinyl. Also suitable for rubber floorings, fibre bonded and carpet tiles, textile carpets and linoleum onto porous, flat surfaces such as concrete (screed), levelling compounds and timber.
APPLICATION
Application method: Draw starting axes and determine the pattern. Stir well before using. Apply LVT adhesive with the correct trowel on the sufficient surface (see technical data). Don’t apply more adhesive than you can process within 10-20 minutes. Leave open for 10 minutes, then insert the flooring material (vinyl, PVC, carpet with foam backing) into the still wet adhesive. Make sure that the bond is tension free and that there are no air pockets between the adhesive layer and the flooring material.
Immediately rub, press or roll the flooring well into the whole surface to achieve a good adhesive transfer. Welding of PVC floorings or linoleum is allowed at the earliest 24h after the application. Consult the installation method and technical data sheet of the flooring. Follow the instructions of the producer for applying the floor. Restart underfloor heating (according to the correct procedure) at the earliest 48 hours after the application.
Cleaning: Cured LVT adhesive can only be removed mechanically.
Repair: With the same material.
LIMITATIONS
– Always consult the installation method and technical data sheet of the flooring manufacturer. Follow the instructions of the producer for applying the floor.
– Working with the correct primers will always give you a better adhesion on the surface, will give you a lower consumption of the adhesive and will ease the applying of the adhesive. For LVT adhesive the primer Soudal WBPR-11P can always be used on a cement based subfloor (screed) or on a leveling compound.
– The minimal temperature of the surface has to be at least +10°C.
– Do not use in damp areas or applications where continuous water immersion is possible.
