Pure Anti Mould Silicone by Cromar AlphaChem is a high-quality silicone sealant designed specifically for use in sanitary areas with high humidity, such as bathrooms and kitchens. It is waterproof and has superior antimicrobial properties to prevent black mould growth. The product cures quickly and is made of 100% silicone.

One of the standout features of Pure Anti Mould Silicone is its 10-year guarantee against black mould growth. This means that the silicone will effectively prevent the formation of black mould for at least a decade, ensuring that the sealed areas remain bright and clean.

The silicone is highly durable and resistant to temperature extremes and aging. It will not crack or discolour over time, maintaining its original appearance and functionality. Additionally, it can withstand exposure to detergents, cleaning agents, and various chemicals commonly found in household cleaning products.

This product is ideal for sealing joints, gaps, and connections in wet areas prone to mould growth. It provides a long-lasting, reliable solution to keep your bathroom or kitchen looking clean and fresh.

Alpha Chem Pure Anti Mould Silicone is a versatile product suitable for various applications in the production and installation of shower cabinets, tiles, and other bathroom fixtures. Some of the common uses include:

  1. Glazing and bonding in shower cabinets during production: The silicone can be used to bond and seal glass panels and other components during the assembly of shower cabinets. It provides a waterproof seal and prevents water leakage.
  2. Filling joints between tiles, tubs, and showers during installation: When installing tiles or shower components, gaps and joints can be filled with the Pure Anti Mould Silicone. This ensures a tight, waterproof seal and prevents moisture from seeping into the gaps, reducing the risk of mould and water damage.
  3. Filling joints between bath tubs and tiles after production: In completed bathroom installations, the silicone can be used to seal the joints between the bathtub and the surrounding tiled areas. This creates a water-resistant barrier and helps maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the bathroom.
  4. Waterproofing sinks: The silicone can be applied around the edges of sinks to waterproof the area and prevent water from seeping into gaps or joints. This is particularly important to protect the underlying structure and prevent mould growth.

In all of these applications, the Pure Anti Mould Silicone offers fast curing, 100% silicone properties, ensuring a durable and long-lasting seal. Its resistance to temperature extremes, aging, detergents, cleaning agents, and chemicals makes it a reliable choice for various bathroom sealing and waterproofing needs. Moreover, the 10-year guarantee against black mould growth adds an extra level of assurance for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment in the bathroom.

APPLICATION:

  1. Surface Preparation: Before applying the silicone, make sure all surfaces are clean, sound, dry, and free from dust. If there is old silicone present, it should be removed using a silicone remover to ensure a clean and smooth surface.
  2. Fill Gaps and Voids: If there are any gaps or voids around the sanitaryware or other fixtures, fill them with Alpha Chem Expanding Foam. After filling, trim back the excess foam to be level with the edge of the sanitaryware.
  3. Sealing Baths: When applying the silicone to baths, fill the bath half full with water during sealing and while the silicone is curing. This will help to prevent the silicone from cracking or separating as the bath expands and contracts with water usage.
  4. Cut Nozzle: Cut the thread and nozzle of the silicone cartridge to the required size. The nozzle size will depend on the width of the joint or gap you need to fill.
  5. Apply Silicone: Use a sealant gun to apply the Pure Anti Mould Silicone along the joint or gap. Tool down the silicone with light pressure within 5 minutes of application. You can use a spatula or a wetted gloved finger to achieve the preferred finish and ensure a good bond with the surfaces.
  6. Clean Excess Uncured Sealant: If there is any excess uncured silicone, it should be cleaned with a suitable solvent.
  7. Removal of Cured Sealant: If there is any cured silicone that needs to be removed, it can be done mechanically.
  8. Proper Disposal: It is essential to dispose of all packaging and any waste materials correctly and responsibly.

LIMITATIONS

  1. Releases Acetic Acid: During the curing process, the silicone releases acetic acid. As a result, it must not be used on mirrors or sensitive metals like copper, brass, and lead. The acetic acid can potentially cause damage or corrosion to these surfaces.
  2. Not Suitable for Overpainting: This silicone is not suitable for overpainting. Attempting to paint over the cured silicone may lead to poor adhesion and an unsatisfactory finish.
  3. Not for Use in Aquariums: Pure Anti Mould Silicone should not be used for sealing aquariums. The acetic acid released during curing can be harmful to aquatic life.
  4. Avoid Prolonged Exposure to Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight should be avoided because it may cause the silicone to discolor or degrade over time.
  5. Not for Use on Porous Surfaces: This silicone is not suitable for use on porous surfaces such as stone, concrete, marble, or granite. It may not adhere properly to these materials, and the sealing performance may be compromised.
