Hodgson Sealants Foamfix is ideal for the following applications:

• Filling gaps, such as sealing partition walls and areas around pipes and various structures.
• Preserving insulation within cavities and joints of structures.
• Fitting windows and doors. • Serving as a supportive material for joints before sealant application.
• Versatile use in filling various gaps.
• Offering thermal and/or acoustic insulation.

APPLICATION

Before use: Prior to usage, consult the Safety Data Sheet and wear protective gloves.

Surface preparation: Ensure all surfaces are thoroughly cleaned, free from oil, grease, and loose particles. Spray or moisten surfaces with clean water to enhance product expansion and adhesion. Vigorously shake the foam can for a minimum of 30 seconds to ensure proper mixing of foam components. Attach the applicator securely to the can. Use the can upside down, valve facing downward, and start foaming at the lowest point of the joint. Fill the cavity about half full to allow post expansion to fill it completely. After application, the foam can be cut once it has cured. Uncured foam can be removed using acetone or a PU foam gun solvent, being cautious not to damage surfaces. For cleaning the PU Foam Gun: Detach the Foamfix can from the gun. Depress the gun trigger to release pressure and remove any remaining foam. Attach the spray nozzle to the Foam Solvent valve and spray the can valve and gun adapter to eliminate any Foamfix residue. Switch to the Solvent Cleaner can, pressing the trigger multiple times to clean any uncured Foamfix from the gun, ensuring to spray away from yourself into a suitable container until clear fluid emerges.

Note: Foam Solvent is intended for dissolving uncured one-part PU aerosol foam. Foam Cleaner should not be used on polystyrene, PVC, and other plastics; prior testing is necessary. After curing, protect Foamfix from UV exposure using paint or plaster. Failure to do so will lead to foam degradation. The curing rate is influenced by temperature and humidity. Low temperatures and humidity will slow down the curing process. Limited adhesion is expected on low surface energy materials such as PE, PP, PA, silicone, and PTFE.
