Mapei Primer FD serves as an adhesion enhancer for silicone and hybrid sealants available in the Mapei product line. It finds application on various surfaces including concrete, wood, metal, painted surfaces, plastic, rubber, and especially for joints exposed to extended water immersion.
It is perfect as a bonding enhancer when applied before MAPESIL AC when using it for concrete, wood, metal, painted surfaces, plastic and rubber.
Mapei FD is currently a non-stock item & extended lead times are advised at anywhere up to 3-4 weeks

Mapei Primer FD is ideal for use on concrete, wood, metal, painted surfaces, plastic and rubber or in case of joints subject to prolonged immersion into water.
APPLICATION
Surface Preparation
Before applying the sealant, ensure that all surfaces are dry, stable, and devoid of dust, loose particles, oils, grease, wax, old paint, and rust.
Application of Primer FD
- Apply Primer FD using a small brush to coat the surfaces.
- Allow several minutes for the solvent to evaporate, leaving the primer to dry.
- Once the primer is dry, proceed to apply the appropriate sealants from the Mapei range.
- It’s important to use the sealant on the same day after the primer has dried.
