Hodgson Sealants Butyl 66 Glazing Compound  is ideal for:

• Designed for integration into a bead glazing system to install sealed units onto timber frames (Hodgson Glazing System – B5).
• Also suitable as a standalone bedding compound for bead glazing of individual glass panes into timber frames (Hodgson Glazing System – B1).
• Additionally appropriate for bedding glass in steel frames (Hodgson Glazing Systems B1 & B5).

APPLICATION

• Thoroughly clean the rebate to remove any dust, grease, or loose material. In case of any moisture on the timber, use a clean paper towel or absorbent material to achieve a dry surface.

• Inspect the condition of the primer or stain on the frame, especially focusing on the rebate and the glazing surface of the beads. If any section has been inadequately covered or significantly affected by weathering, it should be reprimed or stained prior to glazing.

• Utilizing Hodgson Timber Sealer is crucial to ensure the effective performance of Butyl 66. Apply Timber Sealer to all rebate and bead surfaces that will come into contact with Butyl 66. Ensure these surfaces are adequately coated and allow them to dry before proceeding with glazing.

• For more detailed information and comprehensive instructions regarding Hodgson Glazing Method B5, please consult our Technical Library on our Website, where you can access comprehensive details about this system and Glazing Method B1.

LIMITATIONS

• Inappropriate for use as putty fronting.

• Do not use solely for sealed units or laminated glass.
